We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our £10,000 Fortune Finder treasure hunt is Peter from Birmingham. Peter, who works in sales and marketing, is currently going through the final stages of our verification and anti-money-laundering process.
After the formalities are successfully completed, we’ll open an account for him, credit it with £10,000, and Peter will set out to make his lending choices. Although it is strictly outside our remit to advise in any way, we can and do make the comment that spreading investments across a range of loans is an excellent way of lowering risk. See the “How does lending work?” video on our Lend page.
We’ll bring you more on the winners’ portfolios – there are five £1,000 winners, don’t forget – after the accounts are up and running.
*** We had an excellent working lunch with more than 20 potential lenders at the Friends’ Meeting House in central Manchester yesterday. Our CEO Nicola Horlick, and COO (chief operating officer) Chris Lake – in the centre of the picture above, with potential lenders – fielded the bulk of questions from an engaged gathering.
Major themes included how we select quality companies and assess the riskiness of investing in them, the level of yield our loans achieve (currently running at over eight per cent), and the ability to create a diversified portfolio of loans.
Today, we’re in Manchester again, and will shortly visit the vibrant city of Liverpool.
